DR Projects
The Dominican Republic is the Caribbean’s leading economy, with consistent growth and political stability over the past 30 years. The DR is pursuing an active policy to deploy renewable energies, with target penetration rates of 25% by 2025, and 30% by 2030 (excluding hydro power). The demand for electrical power throughout the country is growing at five percent annually, requiring the installation of 150-360MW of new capacity every year. This makes it very likely that the government power authority will be willing to negotiate a favorable power purchase agreement (PPA).
Our Dominican Republic team has extensive experience with large scale, complex projects requiring strong industry, operational, financial, legal, and regulatory relationships, both in the U.S and the DR, to ensure success.

The True Cost of Chinese Solar Panels
While some argue that the U.S. should loosen restrictions on cheap Chinese solar panels to accelerate renewable energy deployment, the approach is unsustainable.
New Advancement Could Make Solar Panels 2 to 4 Times Cheaper
An advancement has the potential to lead to solar cells that are 2-4 times less expensive than current thin-film solar panels.
Four Issues to Watch in Make-or-Break Year for Solar
Following years of growth, 2024 could be the year that decides whether solar becomes the country’s dominant renewable power source or gets bogged down by long-standing regulatory and financial hurdles.
